VP Data Science, WorkFusion
I have over a decade of experience applying AI and machine learning to complex real-world data problems in both academia and industry. My primary interests lay in the intersection of efficient computation and frameworks to learn from complex or big data. My work has spanned a wide variety of problem domains including financial and economic trend prediction, model and hyper parameter optimization, approximation functions for massive search spaces, NLP, statistical machine translation, fraud detection, sentiment analysis and more.
I obtained my PHD in CS/AI from the University of Edinburgh in 2011. Afterwards I worked as a senior researcher at the University of Oxford for four years before moving to my current position at WorkFusion. At WorkFusion I lead the data science team helping evolve and push forward the state-of-the-art for process automation and applied AI for enterprise data streams within corporate industry.
